This glossary is design to assist our customers in understanding the terminologies often used in the Party & Tent Rental Industry.

Deposit: A percentage of the total rental cost that is due at the time of agreement in order to reserve/secure a rental item (s).
Delivery Rate: An extra cost that applies to the delivery of any rental item(s). This fee usually includes drop off, and pickup, to main floor, or door step, any handling (elevator, stairs) incurs extra charges.
Site Inspection: A process by which the details of a potential location, where a tent or canopy is to be installed. This process involves inspecting the terrain, above and below the surface.
Testimonial: An opinion or recommendation of previous customers, regarding a certain product or service.
Tent: A portable shelter usually of canvas stretched over supporting poles and fastened to the ground with ropes and pegs. Available in various structures, Frame Tents, Pole Tents, Clear span Tents, Canopies, etc
Frame Tent: A self-supporting structure with no center poles, providing full use of the space underneath.
Pole Tent: A self-supporting structure with one or more long poles in the center for additional support.
Canopy: An overhead roof or structure that is able to provide shade or shelter, a lighter- duty tent.
Minimum Order: A minimum amount of order that most be placed, before applicable taxes, in order to have items delivered.
Non-Refundable Deposit: Similar to a deposit, however the percentage placed to reserve the order is non refundable in case of cancellation.
Rental Equipment: Refers to the equipment being rented. Renter: The customer renting equipment for a fee.
Reservation: The act of placing an item(s) on reserve, for a certain day; as long as a deposit is made, item should be available for the day it was reserved for.
Quotation: Also known as Quote, refers to the act of inquiring the price of an item, or the total of multiple items, with or without delivery cost. Permits: Legal documents that authorize construction of tents, or the use of any item(s) on public grounds.
Damage Waiver: Offered to relieve renter of liability for accidental damage to rented items. Available for a percentage of the rental amount, must be requested before taking possession of equipment.
Terms and Conditions: A specification of restrictions for the use of goods or services
Sidewalls: The walls attached to the sides of a tent, or canopy, usually made of the same material as the roof of the main structure. Available in various styles, Plain, French window, etc
